Monument to commemorate the two battles between Tories and Patriots in southeastern North Carolina. McPhauls Mill was fought on September 1, 1781 and was a Tory victory. Raft Swamp was fought about 4 miles southeast on October 15, 1781 and was a Patriot victory.
Monument was unveiled April 30, 1933
