This is a sundial where you are the dial. You stand at the position on the ground of the month and your shadow provides the time on metal numbered plates on the ground.

Sundial and the sun.
Briefly explain if the experiment was effective for you. Could it have been better?:
You stand on the month that you're in and the sunlight is used to shadow the time. When I did it, the time was one hour earlier than it really was.
When is the apparatus/experiment available to the public:
When the sun is shining - for obvious reasons.
