This memorial is in the form of an obelisk, set in the eastern side of a park, which is in the government/public facility area of the capital of Kelatan State, Kota Bharu. I estimate the obelisk to be six metres tall. On the rectangular base are four plaques with the name of the dead. Three of these are written in Arabic, the fourth English.
There is a later reference to Second World War. On the north side of the park is a World War Two museum.
Kelatan became part of British Malaya in 1909. People from the state fought in both world wars, and the State was occupied by the Japanese military in the 1941.
