The Thyatira Presbyterian Church was established in about 1753 and is located in the Mill Bridge Community of Rowan County, The current church is the fourth building to be constructed on the property and was completed in 1860. The main sanctuary was refurbished in 1999. The church is listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
The Grave of early minister and educator Samuel McCorkle is located in the church cemetery along with the John Knox the Great Grandfather of President James K. Polk and other members of the Knox family.
