Consisting of three bowling pits, these bocci pits are near the north eastern end of the park and adjacent to the tennis courts. When we visited, it was mid spring and the pits weren't yet open for the season. I would imagine that they see a lot of use through the summer, though, as we didn't find any other bocci pits in town on our visit.

Constructed in 1987, the pits were co-sponsored by the Italian-Canadian Society and were dedicated to the memory of Italian-Canadian Americo Capriglione.

Americo Capriglione was born Sep. 6th , 1934, in Stefanos, Italy and passed away Apr. 6, 1986 in Nelson, BC. Married to Emelia Iallonard, he was the son of Nicola Capriglione and Amanuela Defoe.

Nearby are a children's playground, washrooms, picnic shelters and other amenities for the convenience of the bocci players.
