In Fall River, southwest of the Fall River Government Center, is the headquarters for the Fall River Herald News.

The building is located, on the south side of Pocasset Street, about 300 ft southwest of the intersection of Pocasset, South Main, North Main, and Frontage Streets.

The building is a stone and brick-faced structure in the front, and concrete on the side. The taller part is five stories, and the shorter part is three stories. It is on a hill, so the building gains a floor on the shorter part.

Fall River Herald News is the main newspaper for the greater Fall River area, which includes towns in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Fall River was a mill town and port city. Today, the city has changed - much of the industry has left, but it is home to Battleship Cove - a museum where several old navy ships, including the U.S.S. Massachusetts, are located. The paper started in 1892 when three papers combined to form this paper. In the 1960s, the paper was owned by Mark Goodson, who created the TV show, To Tell the Truth. During this time, the newspaper headquarters moved to its present location. Later, it was part of the Journal-Register company, then became part of the conglomerate, Gatehouse Media.

At its height, the newspaper had a circulation of 45000. Today, it is around 15000.
Area Served: Fall River, Mass., which includes towns in Mass. and RI.
