An unusually shaped 5' high, eight-sided, granite memorial honors the citizens of Peabody who died during World War I. The memorial has the sculpture of a flame on top and inscriptions on four sides including the the last stanza of the poem In Flanders Fields. The memorial was designed by Rubin Silver and rests on a 6' square polished black granite base.

The six sided front face is inscribed:
