The marker text says:

Designed by the architectural firm of Lang and Witchell, this hotel was built in 1925 for Conrad Hilton, and was the first to bear the Hilton name. The hotel advertised comfortable guest rooms and superior service at moderate prices. The fourteen-story, U-plan brick-clad building features elaborate terra cotta details at the two entries. Operated by A. C. White beginning in 1938, it was known as the White-Plaza until 1974.

Recorded Texas Historic Landmark - 1988

A "Discover Dallas/Preservation Dallas" sign on the south side of Main St, just down the block in front of the Main Street Garden Park, says:

Lang & Witchell (Dallas), architects

This fourteen-story building was Conrad Hilton's first high-rise hotel and the first to bear his name. Hilton guided the layout of the building, placing a variety of services that he felt were essential to good hotel operation in the two-story base. Above it, the U-shaped tower maximized ventilation and lighting. The Sullivanesque composition features Beaux Arts detailing. Hilton gave up control of the hotel in 1938, and it was renamed the White Plaza Hotel.

Placed in memory of Gail Thoma Patterson, a friend of historic preservation in Dallas
