This railroad bridge was built for the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1936 and allows traffic on Portland Road (then U.S. Highway 99E) to cross under the railroad line without disrupting traffic at Salem's north gateway. The bridge includes a pedestrian walkway on each separate and above the vehicle traffic. The dedication plaque reads:
