Nékitotegwak Abenaki means "where the rivers meet"
It symbolizes an open arch on the past, depicting the meeting of Magog and St. Francis still wild rivers, at the time of beaver dams before those of hydropower.
An imaginary conception of what the Magog River landscape where First Nations, attracted by the abundance of game, fish and fruits sauvages.Les Abenaki were sometimes returned a stop on this site, before porting necessary to back of the canyon waterfall Magog River toward new England.
This fresco therefore wants a more figurative and architectural representation. It is a beautiful flowing waterfall in the rocks.
Nékitotegwak signifie en Abénaquis « là où les rivières se rencontrent »
Elle symbolise une arche ouverte sur le passé, illustrant la rencontre des rivières Magog et Saint-François encore sauvages, à l’époque des barrages de castors, avant ceux de l’hydroélectricité.
Une conception imaginaire de ce qu’était la rivière Magog, du paysage où revenaient les Premières Nations, attirées par l’abondance de gibiers, de poissons et de fruits sauvages.Les Abénaquis faisaient parfois une halte sur ce site, avant le portage nécessaire afin de remonter le canyon en cascade de la Rivière Magog en direction de la nouvelle Angleterre.
Cette fresque se veut donc une représentation plus figurative qu’architecturale. Il s’agit d’une magnifique cascade d’eau coulant au milieu des rochers.
