Wesley's Chapel was first opened in 1778 by John Wesley as a home base for his fast growing network of churches and societies which eventually became the Methodist Church. The house where he lived during his later years is next to the Chapel, and his grave is in the garden behind the Chapel.
There are dozens of memorials within the Chapel, and here are depicted 18 of the magnificent stained glass windows depicting Biblical scenes.
Although the Chapel is an active house of worship, it is open to the public during the week and many visitors come to see the place where Wesley preached and lived.
