This great old building, once the home of the Royal Bank of Canada, was built in 1910. The date still remains on the building over the corner entrance. City Hall also occupied this building.

The building underwent renovations in the 1970s and the ceiling was lowered, but the old vault still remains at the back on the main floor.

The buildings of this era were constructed of brick. This was a necessity brought about by the fires of 1908 and 1911.

The old Royal Bank building is now home of The Borscht Bowl.
Year of construction: 1910
