Visitors to historic Jacksonville and visiting the Visitor Center and/or Chamber of Commerce might notice this metal plaque monumented on a granite base that reads:

MEDFORD, OREGON
There are two historical markers here and here located across the street from this marker that describe this former railroad in more detail. The visitor center/Chamber of Commerce building was once the railroad depot when it was in use in the early 1900s. If you look closely, you'll notice remnants of this railroad that still exist today including an iron post on the sidewalk and small sections of rail that pop up from the asphalt street in front of the visitor center as well as further east along West C Street.
