This beautiful Angel of Hope stands in a garden in Leif Erikson Park in downtown Duluth. There is a plaque to memorialize those children who are” loved and lost, but never forgotten.” The marker reads:
“The ‘Christmas Box Angel’ was inspired by the book ‘The Christmas Box’ by Richard Paul Evans. It has come to symbolize hope and healing for parents who have suffered the loss of a child of any age. With ‘Hope’ on its wing, may you find this monument a place of mourning, healing, and remembrance for all that have lost children. Feel free to leave a white flower at the base in remembrance of a loved one. Annual candlelight vigil on December 6th, at 7:00 p.m. at the memorial.”
