The Borscht Bowl is in one of Grand Forks' Heritage buildings. The converted Royal Bank is dated 1910 and was also used as City Hall.
The Borscht Bowl is a wonderful unpretentious restaurant that serves great Russian food at an affordable price. Talked to several locals about the Borscht Bowl and they said the food was always consistently good. Everything is cooked fresh just like Mom use to do.
Grand Forks is home to a large Doukhobor community and they do frequent this restaurant. They also provide good meatless options as Doukhobors are traditionally vegetarian.
The service was efficient and friendly and the restaurant has a homey, warm atmosphere.
