In 1908/1909 the Orangery in the spa gardens was decorative modificated by the Homburg architect and builder Louis Jacobi (1836-1910), as a foyer with new front portico. At the side he placed a bandstand. The appearance of the Orangerie underwent a fundamental change early 1970s, as the west wing of the core building was remodelled and a "modern" band shell was built.
In 2011 the modern additions and the bandstand were demolished. The bandstand was reconstructed according to the plans of Jacobi, but with certain deviations, that were made necessary by the current technical requirements. The music pavilion stands on a hydraulic turntable and can assume three different positions.
