Humboldt is a town in Minnehaha County, South Dakota and has a population of 589 as of the 2012 census.
The town was named for German scientist, explorer, and diplomat Alexander von Humboldt.
German, Irish, Norwegian, Danish, and French immigrants settled the area and the town was incorporated on August 6, 1891.
The cemetery has about 300 graves in it. It is located on the west side of the city and it is well maintained.
