Franklin was a small town located about 9 miles west of Chester, SD, and about 12 miles southeast of Madison, SD.
At one time there was a school but it closed and was torn down in the late 70s.
One family lives just south of where the school was located.
The cemetery itself is well maintained with trees and a fence surrounding it. It has about 150 graves in it.
