Current Condition of Bridge: Stucturally sound. Lots of graffiti :( Web Address: [Web Link] Description of Covered Bridge: Originally constructed by Fred Dover along with a grist, saw and shingle mill complex in the 1800's, The original bridge washed away in the early 1890's and was replaced by Will Pardue in 1895. In 1917 Dover sold the operation to Fred Stovall, Sr. The mill and dam washed away in 1964 but the bridge remains. The bridge was featured in the 1951 movie, "I'd Climb the Highest Mountain", starring Susan Heyward.
