The pavilion adjacent to this bowls club carries a plaque commemorating its erection for the Coronation of King George V. The King was crowned in 1910 and the pavilion opened in 1912, it is known locally as Coronation Hall. It has deep verandahs on three sides and the balcony is raised above ground level by six steps giving good views of the rinks. Currently it is used as Cafe Cecille, and although not trading at the moment it is hoped to reopen this year.
There is space for six rinks on the green in each direction, game directions are alternated daily, and there used to be tennis courts at the east end which are now used as car-parking.
The full wording of the plaque is:-
