The final resting place of Esther Long is near the center of Rose Hill Burial Park, east of the lake and at the west side of section 10. Hers is an upright, angled marker that is one of three placed on a 12 ft. long foundation. Praying hands are etched between the years of her birth and death.

Some worldwide events and accomplishments that occurred during Esther's time on earth:
1892: Abercrombie & Fitch is established by David T. Abercrombie.
1902: In Martinique, Mount Pelée erupts, destroying the town of Saint-Pierre and killing over 30,000.
1912: Woodrow Wilson wins U.S. presidential election
1922: DeWitt and Lila Wallace publish the first issue of Reader's Digest.
1932: Hattie W. Caraway becomes the first woman elected to the United States Senate.
1942: Battle of Los Angeles: Over 1,400 AA shells are fired at an unidentified, slow-moving object in the skies over Los Angeles. The appearance of the object triggers an immediate wartime blackout over most of Southern California, with thousands of air raid wardens being deployed throughout the city. In total there are 6 deaths. Despite the several hour barrage no planes are downed.
1952: The Winter Olympics held in Oslo, Norway.
1962: Two of the high-wire "Flying Wallendas" are killed, when their famous 7-person pyramid collapses during a performance in Detroit, Michigan.
1972: U.S. airlines begin mandatory inspection of passengers and baggage.
1982: The Falklands War begins: Argentina invades and occupies the Falkland Islands.
1992: Boris Yeltsin announces that Russia will stop targeting cities of the United States and her allies with Nuclear Weapons. In return George H. W. Bush announces that the United States and her allies will stop targeting Russia and the remaining communist states with Nuclear Weapons.
