Nellie P. Moore was born the same year that King William III of the Netherlands died without a male heir, and his daughter Princess Wilhelmina becomes Queen, causing Luxembourg (who required a male heir) to declare independence.

The final resting place of Nellie Moore is at the southeast corner of Fairlawn Cemetery, just north of the main entrance. Hers is a horizontal marker, with the name and dates inscribed inside a scroll. A stem of flowers weaves underneath the text box.

1890: Scotland Yard, headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Service, moves to a building on London's Victoria Embankment, as the New Scotland Yard.
1900: The United States Census estimates the country's population to be about 70 million people.
1910: Slavery in China, which has existed since the Shang dynasty, is now illegal.
1920: Republican Warren G. Harding defeats Democrat James M. Cox and Socialist Eugene V. Debs, in the first national U.S. election in which women have the right to vote.
1930: Mahatma Gandhi sets off on a 200-mile protest march towards the sea with 78 followers to protest at the British monopoly on salt; more will join them during the Salt March that ends on April 5.
1940: Winston Churchill, in his first address as Prime Minister, tells the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, "I have nothing to offer you but blood, toil, tears, and sweat."
1950: Walt Disney releases his 12th animated film, Cinderella in Hollywood.
1960: Elvis Presley receives his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army.
1970: The first Earth Day is celebrated in the U.S.
1980: U.S. President Jimmy Carter announces that the United States will boycott the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
