1989 wurde das moderne Gebäude aus Glas und Stahl an das benachbarte historische Gasthaus "Zur Krone" angebaut, in dem das Stadtarchiv untergebracht ist. Verschiedene Abteilungen befassen sich mit der Geschichte der Stadt von der Bronzezeit bis zur Neuzeit. Im Saal des Museums finden regelmäßig Konzerte, Autorenlesungen und Vorträge zu geschichtlichen Themen statt. Seit einigen Jahren ist es darüber hinaus möglich, sich im historischen Ambiente des Stadtmuseums trauen zu lassen.
Die Abteilungen der Ausstellung sind:
Die Schlacht bei Eschborn (1389)
Die alamannischen Funde (ein Gräberfeld aus der Zeit des 4./5. Jhdts. n. Chr.)
Die Sammlung des Malers Hanny Franke (1890–1973)
In 1989 the modern building of glass and steel was attached at the historic inn "Zur Krone", in which the city archive is housed. Different departments deal with the city's history from the Bronze Age to modern times. The hall of the museum is regularly used for concerts, readings and lectures on historical topics. Since several years, it is also possible to get married in the historic surroundings of the town museum.

The Alemannic finds (a burial ground dating back to the 4th/5th century)
The collection of the painter Hanny Franke (1890-1973)
