The HERMITAGE HOTEL, SW. corner 6th Ave. N. and Union St., has in the lobby 20 paintings of Confederate scenes, by Gilbert Gaul (1855-1919)- Tennessee: A Guide to the State, Nashville section , pg. 188.
The hotel received a $20 million dollar renovation between 2000 and 2003. The hotel a highly rated luxury hotel. Not sure if the paintings in the Guide are still present however there are several painting adorning the walls in the hotel including in the ballroom. The hotel has a restored men's restroom which has been featured in music videos and is often visited by both men and women.
