ENThe Frühstückspavillon (Breakfast Pavillon) is a remainder of the former royal Bellevue Gardens of the Hessian princes. The name is passed on by common parlance and it was built in 1815 as a folly for Elector William I by architect Daniel Engelhard (1788-1856), the architect Goethe had in mind when writing his novel
Elective Affinities. The neo-classical pavillon offers shelter from the weather and with its exposed location a beautiful view across Karlsaue Park and southern Kassel. It is a listed building and has an entry in the German Wikipedia.
