According to staff, this is one of only two remaining A&W restaurants in Oregon that feature the old-fashioned drive-in service (the other is in the town of Sweet Home). We have eaten here many times and once in awhile we order from the drive-in menu, waiting semi-patiently for the staff to bring the order to our car. There is also a drive-through window. But most of the time we eat inside the restaurant.
The inside features at least a large number of booths and you place your order over the "phone" at each booth. The color scheme inside features the classic bright blue, yellow, orange color scheme, and the walls are covered with western-memorabilia, mostly from local rodeo events. Another unusual feature is that there is an outdoor children's play area outside the back door. This particular restaurant has a continuous special deal where you can get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, fries and a drink for $3.99, which is just super for a large family. We usually substitute the soda for some kind of dessert beverage.
When you go to pay, there are complimentary root beer lollipops featuring the A&W Bear. By the door, there is a bell that the kids enjoy ringing (loudly) which serves to thank the staff for good service.
