This stretch of beach is an off-leash area from Labor Day through June 14th but must be on a 6-foot leash during the remainder of the summer. Dogs must be licensed and tagged on the dog's collar. The dogs really love to romp in the mouth of the San Dieguito River near the center of North Beach.

The most convenient parking is pay parking along Camino Del Mar, but there is scattered limited free parking on side streets in the area.
