The Port of Gruz, Croatia, is located just 2 miles northwest of Dubrovnik's Old Town and is the docking point for all medium-to-large cruise ships making a port-of-call to Dubrovnic (note: some smaller vessels may still be permitted to anchor in Old Harbor -- right in the heart of the old city -- and thender their passengers over to the Old Town, although this is becoming less common over time).
According to Dubrovnic official Port Authority website (), the port is expecting to handle a total of 711 Ports-of-Call in 2013, for a total of 1.2 million passengers. Gruz Harbor is an open-air terminal building directly opposite the dock, offers some souvenir shopping opportunities, money exchange capabilities and inexpensive Internet connectivity -- both wired and wireless (for those with laptops or smartphones).
Some cruise shipss provide shuttles directly from the dock to the Old Town. You can also walk (35 min), take a public bus, or a taxi (approx €10) to Pile Gate, the Old Town's main entrance.
