Der Geist der Elbe
An diesen Ort fand am 25.April 1945 die Begegnung von Alliierten und sowjetischen Streitkräften im 2.Weltkrieg statt. Es trafen sich Einheiten der 69.Infanteri Division der Vereinigten Staaten und der 58.Grade Schützen Division der 1.Ukrainischen Front der U.d.S.S.R.
Hier wurde der "Geist der Elbe" geboren, der sich an die Menschen aller Nationen wendet, Differenzen ausschließlich mit friedlichen Mitteln zu lösen. Er ist ewige Mahnung an alle Nationen, für das gemeinsame Wohl der gesamten Menschheit zusammenzuarbeiten.
In Dankbarkeit für die freundschaftlichen Gefühle der Menschen dieser Elberegion ist diese Stätte vom Memorialfond der 69.Infanterie Division e.V. der USA und den sowjetischen Elbeveteranen errichtet worden.

In gratitude for the friendly feelings of the people of this region, this same site was built by the Memorial Fund of the 69.Infanterie Division Association of the U.S. and the Soviet Elbe veterans.
