This is a monument dedicated to the miners located nearby to the main station in Essen, Germany, Nordrhein-Westfalen.
There's no plaque.
It was created by Max Kratz in 1989.
The huge sculpture is made of bronze and is created life-sized. It shows several miners at work.
It is called 'Steile Lagerung' (steep storing).
There's an inscription at the monument:
'Zur Ehrung der Bergleute und ihrer schwierigen Arbeit unter Tage'
(In honor of the miners and their difficult work underground)
