The female figure, slightly larger than life-size, dressed in robes is mounted atop a granite pedestal. In her left hand is a slate that is tilted with the bottom edge resting on her left thigh. Her right hand is holding a pencil. She is looking ahead as if to understand what she sees before committing it to the slate. Behind her, on her left side, is a partial column with a Roman bust on top. The front of the base has the words "Fine Art".
