The Elm Street Methodist Church was built circa 1860. The church is in an Italianate style. When the church was built it had a tall spire and bell tower which have been removed. During the Civil War the church was used by the Union Army as a hospital during its occupation of Nashville. After the church was closed the building was converted to offices for an architectural firm.
The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
