The final resting place of Sophia Blakley is at the far northeast corner of Fairlawn Cemetery, at the northwest corner of the section. Hers is a flat marker with a pair of praying hands and a flower etched into the bottom left corner.

1896: The shortest war in recorded history, the Anglo-Zanzibar War, starts at 9 in the morning and lasts for 45 minutes of shelling.
1906: Jack London's novel White Fang is serialized in The Outing Magazine
1916: Pancho Villa leads about 500 Mexican raiders in an attack against Columbus, New Mexico, killing 12 U.S. soldiers. A garrison of the U.S. 13th Cavalry Regiment fights back and drives them away.
