This is an old defunct mine called 'Zeche Wohlverwahrt'. It is located nearby to the Ruhr River in Essen-Horst, Germany, Nordrhein-Westfalen. It is listed in the German Monument Registers since 1989.

The first mine was opend in 1791.
It was defunct between 1821 and 1831.
In 1850 it was defunct again.
The mine was bought by Wilhelm Vogelsang (1877–1939) in 1910. In this year the still existing mine building was built.
In 1918/1919 a new mineshaft has been created.
1921 large parts of the mine have been flooded by the nearby Ruhr River.
Between 1923 and 1937 it was defunct.
In 1939 a new mineshaft was created. Its depth was 86 meters with five levels. Its diameter was 3.8 meters.
In 1962 the mine was finally defunct.
