The Gonzales Confederate Monument is located in the center of Confederate Square (originally designated as "Jail Square" back in 1832) in downtown Gonzales, Texas.

This monument was erected in honor of the local Confederate soldiers who perished during the war. It was created by Frank Teich, a famed sculptor and stonecutter who worked on several projects across the state of Texas.
The monument's base is of Texas marble, while the Confederate soldier at its top is made of Carrara marble. An inscription on the North face reads "OUR CONFEDERATE DEAD 1861-1865", while another inscription on the other side reads "LEST WE FORGET".
It was erected in 1910, and originally donated by the United Daughters of The Confederacy, Chapter 545 in 1909.
