The Bielefeld Stadtbibliothek is a public, municipal library established in 1905. In March 2012 it has been modernized and moved to a new location in the Amerikahaus at 1 Neumarkt. It has about 500,000 books and media in the system and about 600,000 visitors per year. There are 92 computer terminals with internet access for public use plus additional WLAN hotspot facilities for wireless web access with own laptop. Die Stadtbibliothek Bielefeld ist eine 1905 gegründete öffentliche Bibliothek. Im März 2012 ist sie in neue, moderne Räume im Amerikahaus am Neumarkt 1 umgezogen. Der Bestand umfasst rund 500.000 Bücher und Medien, die Besucherzahl beträgt gut 600.000 pro Jahr. Für die Nutzer stehen 92 Internetplätze zur Verfügung, zusätzlich gibt es WLAN hotspots mit drahtlosem Internetzugang für mitgebrachte Laptops.
