The San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado bear a striking resemblance to the Swiss Alps. And Ouray, nestled in its canyon looks a lot like many Swiss mountain towns. So the area has gained the nickname "America's Switzerland". This overlook is an ideal place to see just why it has gotten that moniker.
