Millrock was a small farming community. Millrock township even built a school in 1869 for the children. In 1872 the railroad came through about 1/2 mile north of the town. This moved the local business center to a new town called Freemont (Now called Baldwin). By 1890 only the schoolhouse remained. It closed in 1916.
