The final resting place of Chas Parker is at the southeast corner of Rose Hill Burial Park, at the east side of section 5. His is a horizontal marker next to a family monument with the name Parker.

1858: The Wedding March by Felix Mendelssohn becomes a popular wedding recessional after it is played on this day at the marriage of Queen Victoria's daughter Victoria, Princess Royal to Prince Friedrich of Prussia in St. James's Palace, London.
1868: The Emperor Meiji of Japan announces that the name of the city of Edo is to be changed to Tokyo.
1878: A match race between champion thoroughbred racehorses Ten Broeck and Mollie McCarty draws more than 30,000 fans to Louisville and insprires the folk song, Molly and Tenbrooks.
1888: During a bout of mental illness, Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh infamously cuts off the lower part of his own left ear.
1898: The British government makes a 99 year rent of Hong Kong from China
1908: Robert Peary sets sail for the North Pole.
1918: In London at the Wood Green Empire, Chung Ling Soo (William E. Robinson, U.S.-born magician) dies during his trick where he is supposed to "catch" two separate bullets – but one of them perforates his lung. He dies the following morning in a hospital.
