This is the biggest public park in Bradford. There has been a weather station in the park since 1908 and daily weather recordings have been made and sent to the national meteorological station ever since then.
The various instruments are protected behind a metal fence, but to make the fence visually interesting there are weather symbols attached to each side.
This BBC
web site has details of the station and Chris Russell who in 2008 had been taking the daily recordings for 34 years.
The station and symbols are next to a public footpath through the park. There are also some steps leading to a gate and plaque about the station. The gate is kept locked but it is possible to get a good view of the instruments from there. This is also where the co-ordinates were taken.
