This style of grain elevator is very seldom seen. It is cast-in-place concrete like the second generation concrete cylindrical type but built in the rectangular form of the first generation wood-frame and corrugated metal elevators. These elevators were probably early experiments with cast-in-place elevator construction but they probably found that the cylindrical type could be built larger, faster, easier, and cheaper than the boxy style.
