The carved motif over the entrance to the Eveleth Public Library is floral in design but resembles an owl perched on a leafy branch, the symbol of wisdom. Built in 1912, the library is one of 65 Carnegie libraries found in Minnesota. The building has Classical Revival architecture faced with brick, trimmed with cream terra cotta, and includes two free-standing columns. The words “Eveleth Public Library” are inscribed above the door.
