The school building was built in 1887 and served as the Wittenberg District #3 School until 1908. The building was then converted into the Village Hall and the bell tower was built to hold the brass bell. The bell is brass and was forged in 1908 at the Buckeye Bell Foundry of the E. W. Vanduzen Company. of Cincinnati, OH.
