Mit der Einrichtung einer zentralen Grundwasserversorgung in Mühldorf wurde 1904 unter Bürgermeister Franz-Xaver Fischer begonnen. Es mussten über 40 Quellen auf dem Stadtgebiet zusammengeführt und das Wasser in die Häuser gepumpt werden. Besonders die Zuleitung zum Hochreservoir und zum Wasserturm gestaltete sich schwierig. Insgesamt ließ sich die Stadt Mühldorf dieses Projekt mehr als 200000 Mark kosten.

Der denkmalgeschützte Turm befindet sich heute in Privatbesitz, verfällt aber leider stark. Die auf der Turmspitze befindlich Wetterfahne trägt die Inschrift "1904" als Jahr des Baus.

In 1904 began the establishment of a centralized water supply in Muehldorf under Mayor Franz-Xaver Fischer. More than 40 sources in the town area has to be brought together and the water has to be pumped into the houses. Especially the supply to the high reservoir and the water tower was difficult. Overall, the cost of this project was more than 200,000 marks.

The tower is listed in the German monument registers and is now privately owned, but unfortunately strongly expires. Located on the top of the tower, the weather vane bears the inscription "1904" as the year of construction.
