There is no shortcut - you will need to walk at least 10 kms, but there are three routes, either along the vehicle tracks or via the more scenic hiking trail which runs a bit closer to the escarpment edge (east of the vehicle track), or along the edge of the forestry (west of the vehicle track). The terrain is easy on all routes, the gradients are gentle, and you'll be rewarded with amazing views over the Lowveld along the way.

About 1 km before Bradley point, you'll find Adam's Calendar which is claimed to be the oldest man-made structure on earth. Some Google research on Adam's Calendar is sure to enhance your visit.
