In Weston and Newton, straddling the windy Charles River, is Weston
Ski Track.

Weston Ski Track is located along Park Road (Weston) - Concord Street (Newton). Park Road intersects with Mass. Route 30 at the northern end near the on-ramps to I-95/Mass Rte 128 and I-90, while Concord Street intersects with Mass. Route 16 at the south end near an on-ramp to I95/Mass. Rte 128. The parking lot is on the north side, about 100 feet west of the bridge over the Charles River. The 'lodge' is located on a slight hill a short distance away.

Charles River Canoe and Kayak currently runs the place on the grounds of the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Leo J. Martin Golf Course. The web site for the place states that with natural snow they have over 15 km (10 miles) of snow and with snowmaking they maintain 2 km (1.5 miles), which is also a lighted loop. Looking at the trail map, it is difficult to say what is the practical length of trails is, since a lot of the trails fold over themselves. Probably, you could ski 10 km without repeating a lot of terrain. That's still a lot of skiing. Ski trails are marked, and there are granite posts with the golf links engraved and painted on them, so it is hard to actually be lost - though I'm sure that it is still possible to get turned around.

The terrain is varied. Though it is on an 18-hole golf course, don't think that it is all flat. In fact, as a golf course, it is one of the more challenging courses in the area. Around the lodge there are pretty flat areas, if that is your speed. But, along the outer trails, the terrain is more hilly. The views are great, however. Since it is a golf course, you get some open views that include scenes along the Charles River which winds through the area. You also have short spaces of light woods.
