In the Dedham village of Oakdale, is the Good Shepherd Church.

The church is located at the intersection of Cedar Street, Cobbler Lane, Sanderson Avenue, and River Street and is the only church visible from the intersection.

The church is a beige colored structure with darker tudor-style trim and window frames. There are stained glass windows at the end facing the intersection and along the side of the main part of the building. The roof is peaked and shingled. There are small dormers along the roof. Topping the roof ridge is a bell tower that is basically an arch with a roof and a bell in the opening. Protruding from the church are additions extending to Cobbler Lane and along it. Some of the windows here are also stained glass.

One of the web sites provided has a picture of the interior of the church. It is an open space where both the dormers and windows are visible. Several wood frame braces are present, spaced evenly.

There is an entrance from Cedar Street to the church and rectory. Along the sidewalk is an iron fence.

The church was built in 1871 about the time when the congregation was able to become a self-supporting parish. The building today, retains most of the original architecture.

The Episcopal congregation is the same one that built the church. The bell is still rung for service - 9:00 am. Hope the neighbors don't mind!
