This impressive landmark was known as Redstone designed by architect Oliver Trephagen, well known for many of the noteworthy homes and historical buildings in Duluth. The three story Victorian mansion is constructed with ornately carved red sandstone and has unique turrets, towers, and balconies. It was originally built as a duplex in 1897 and remodeled into nine apartments in 1919. The Traphagen house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and was purchased by the Klatzky advertising firm in 1986 which still operates from there today.
