This arena, now in danger of being demolished, sports two ice surfaces, an NHL sized rink and a smaller kids rink. Though this is a large building, it has a very small seating capacity and it now has a number of structural problems that accompany wood frame buildings of its age.
With the opening of Castlegar's beautiful new Recreation Complex, many feel this building not worth spending money on to restore. In the meantime, however, the building and its two rinks are still in use, offering both adult and children's hockey programs and leagues, public skating, skating lessons for budding hockey players, figure skating lessons, pickup hockey and even broomball.
Hours of opening are irregular, as they depend on the availability of a wholly volunteer staff.
