This building, opened in 2007. replaced the old corrugated iron building which was in nearby Chapel Street, Hoyland Common. Residential property now stands on that site.
Inside the door of the new building and to the right is a brass plaque which reads -
"The salvation Hoyland Common
Church & Comminity Centre
Opened and dedicated to the Glory of God
Lt.Col. Royston Bartlett
Secretary for Communication THQ
Opposite is a plaque which reads-
"OUR MISSION STATEMENT

WE WANT TO TELL
MEN,WOMEN,BOYS AND GIRLS
OF THE LOVE OF GOD
AND HIS FORGIVENESS
AND MAKE OUR CHURCH
A WELCOMING CENTRE

The Barnsley Chronicle has an article by Adam Guest dated 6.1.13 with reference to the BEM award to Barbara Sabin for her work in the formation of the new Church from the old iron building (2007). It also carries a photo.
